Competitive research and innovation funding for appointed Makerere University academic and research staff. A principal investigator or co-principal investigator must be an eligible university staff member; students may participate but cannot lead an application. Round 8 has UGX 6 billion available, expects at least 58 awards and allows budgets up to UGX 150 million across health, agriculture, science and technology, environment, arts, governance and economic-growth themes.
